TNT3R T4 Turbochargers

The True North Turbos TNT3R series is a compact-frame T4 turbo lineup built for import, domestic, and diesel performance builds that need strong spool-up and a responsive powerband without stepping up to a larger frame turbo. Spanning 63mm to 80mm compressor inducers, the lineup supports 940 to 1,300 crank horsepower. Every TNT3R turbo is designed, machined, assembled, and balanced in Canada by Black Sheep Industries.

  • TNT363 63mm T4 | 940HP — the smallest frame in the lineup, built for the fastest spool and strongest low-end response.
  • TNT366 66mm T4 | 1,090HP — a step up in airflow while keeping quick spool characteristics. The most-installed size in the frame.
  • TNT369 69mm T4 | 1,120HP — a balanced option for builds wanting more top-end without giving up response.
  • TNT372 72mm T4 | 1,140HP — more airflow capacity for higher horsepower goals, and the first size offered with all three turbine wheels.
  • TNT376 76mm T4 | 1,210HP — built for builds pushing into bigger power while staying on the TNT3R frame.
  • TNT380 80mm T4 | 1,300HP — the largest TNT3R option, for builds wanting the most airflow this frame size supports.

Read those figures as ceilings, not targets. They are the maximum crank horsepower each compressor will support at the edge of its map. Our practical crossover to the 400 frame sits around 820 HP — well below the top of this lineup — because past that an S400 makes the same power with less strain and more headroom.

Choosing a TNT3R Size

Smaller wheel sizes in the TNT3R lineup (63–69mm) prioritize fast spool-up and daily-driver response, making them a strong fit for street cars and mild power builds. Larger sizes (72–80mm) trade a bit of low-end response for additional airflow and higher horsepower headroom, better suited to dedicated performance builds.

On this frame the turbine wheel matters as much as the compressor — the housings run 0.88 A/R open and 0.91 A/R divided, so A/R is not the lever it is on the 400 frame. Not sure which size fits your build? Send us your combo through the Turbo Spec Form and we'll spec it with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the TNT3R turbo series?

TNT3R is True North Turbos' compact-frame T4 turbo lineup, ranging from 63mm to 80mm wheel sizes, built for import, domestic, and diesel performance applications.

How much horsepower do TNT3R turbos support?

From 940 crank horsepower on the TNT363 up to 1,300 on the TNT380. Those are compressor ceilings rather than build targets — around 820 HP is where we would normally move you to a 400-frame turbo.

Which TNT3R size should I choose?

Smaller sizes (63–69mm) are best for fast spool and daily-driver response. Larger sizes (72–80mm) are better suited to higher horsepower builds that can support additional airflow.

Are TNT3R turbos a direct replacement for a BorgWarner S300?

For a T4 S300, yes. TNT3R turbos use the standard T4 bolt pattern, the 4.25" marmon turbine discharge and the 50mm (1.97") mid-frame oil drain bolt centre. Replacing a T3 S300 requires a new T4 manifold.

Are TNT3R turbos built in Canada?

Yes. Every TNT3R turbo is designed, machined, assembled, and balanced in Canada by Black Sheep Industries.
