The TNT55 JB 106mm is the flagship of the journal bearing line — the largest compressor in the TNT55 range, with 112x102 or 114x108 turbine housing options behind it. It shares its compressor covers, compressor wheels, and turbine design with the ball-bearing series, on a cast steel center section rated to 74,000 RPM.

Despite the wheel size, the supercore weighs just 25lbs — under 65lbs with the largest T6 turbine housing attached. Oil the platform properly: -6 feed, -12 drain, no restrictor, or premature shaft and thrust wear will lead to failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the JB and BB TNT55?

The JB (journal bearing) TNT55 uses a cast steel center section, versus the billet aluminum center section on the BB (ball bearing) version. Both share the same compressor covers, compressor wheels, and turbine design.

Can I run this turbo with a restrictor?

No. Running the TNT55 JB 106mm with a restrictor will cause premature shaft and thrust wear leading to failure. It requires a -6 feed and a -12 drain.
