650 HP with stock emissions. Up to 750 HP in off-road builds.

The True North Turbos 63.5/62 is a drop-in upgrade turbo for the 2017-2019 6.7L Powerstroke. It pairs a 63.5mm 6+6 compressor wheel with a 10-blade mixed-flow turbine wheel, giving Super Duty owners more airflow than the factory charger without giving up the response they rely on for towing and daily driving.

Designed, assembled and tested by True North Turbos in Canada. Compare it with the rest of our lineup in the TNT Diesel Turbos collection.

Specifications

  • Application: 2017-2019 Ford Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke
  • Compressor wheel: 63.5mm (2.50") inducer x 89mm (3.50") exducer, 6+6 blade design
  • Turbine wheel: 72/66 x 62mm, 10-blade mixed flow
  • Power with factory emissions equipment: up to 650 HP with tuning
  • Power in off-road competition builds: up to 750 HP with tuning
  • Fitment: drop-in replacement for the factory turbocharger

Why a Mixed-Flow Turbine?

A mixed-flow turbine wheel takes exhaust energy in at an angle rather than purely radially. That lets the wheel recover energy more efficiently during transient conditions, which is where a heavy truck spends most of its time: pulling away with a trailer, climbing a grade, or getting back into boost after a shift. The 10-blade design pairs that response with the flow needed for the top end.

Why the 63.5mm 6+6 Compressor?

The 6+6 layout uses six full blades and six splitter blades. Fewer full blades at the inducer means less blockage and more flow from the 63.5mm (2.50") inducer, while the splitters keep pressure ratio and efficiency up through the 89mm (3.50") exducer. The result is a compressor sized for the 650 to 750 HP range rather than a stock-sized wheel pushed past its efficient range.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much power will the 63.5/62 make on my Powerstroke?

Up to 650 HP with the factory emissions equipment in place and up to 750 HP in off-road competition builds, both with tuning and the right supporting modifications.

Is this turbo good for towing?

Yes. The mixed-flow turbine keeps the truck responsive under load, and the larger compressor adds airflow for long pulls with a heavy trailer.

Does it need tuning?

Tuning is required to reach the rated power figures and is strongly recommended for boost control, drivability and long-term reliability.

Is it a direct drop-in?

Yes. It is designed as a direct replacement for the factory turbocharger on 2017-2019 6.7L Power Stroke trucks.

Who builds it?

True North Turbos, the turbocharger line from Black Sheep Industries in Canada.
